The following screen shots illustrate a custom ordering system that we developed for one of our high-volume wholesale custom picture framing customers, free of charge. We can adapt a similar system for you. We can justify the expense of providing this unique service to you because it makes us both more efficient.
How it works for this gallery customer: The retail gallery accumulates orders on their PC throughout the week. Ordering is as simple as picking and clicking. Changes can be made anytime. Prices are calculated and totaled automatically. At the end of the week, the gallery exports the order to a file with a single mouse-click, attaches it to an email, and sends it to us. Upon receipt of the email, we import the order into our system and begin work immediately. It is a highly efficient means for conducting business. It saves both parties considerable time and essentially eliminates errors due to miscommunications. On our end, the import of the order sets a number of processes in motion including frame production, mat cutting from pre-designed templates on our Wizard, closing, packaging, quality assurance inspections, and delivery.

Main Menu - From here you can edit your order, print the order, export the order to a file.

Order Form (Detail View) - build your selections for each item in your order based on the colors, mat cut, moulding, and other options that you require. The price is calculated automatically. Change your selections or delete the item at any time.

Order Form (Datasheet View) - review your entire order.

Report - you may print a report of your order if you like, however, your order is transmitted electronically via email in the next step..

Export the current order to a file. - click on the Ok button to export your current order to a file.

Email the order - attach the file generated in the previous step to an email and send to Frames & Images.
Note: the ordering system is a powerful database that resides on your computer. It accumulates all previous order data. The data may be exported to an Excel spreadsheet or reported for use with your inventory system. In the event that specifications, prices, or other factors change, you will be emailed a configuration file that can be easily imported into your program to update it without disturbing previously entered orders. This overall system approach has a proven track record and we can make it work for you too. Incidentally, we are currently working on a web-based ordering system that will enable ordering directly over the Internet without emailing.
