Govinder ‘art at my finger tips’ Worldwide Traveling Exhibit

Exclusively at Frames & Images

October 16 – November 16

Frames & Images, known for the past 15 years for their exceptional custom framing designs is happy to present the exclusive traveling exhibition, ‘art at my finger tips’, consisting of giclee art and sculpture, by the extremely popular English artist- Govinder.

Interest in the “naïve” art of Govinder has been phenomenal.  His ‘art at my fingertips’ Tour has been a resounding success in England and is now being hosted by select fine art galleries in the United States .  Having been selected second in England ’s Fine Art Trade Guild’s ‘Best Up & Coming Published Artist – 2002 Award,’ Frames & Images is proud to represent his work and bring to you the finest in contemporary artistic talent.

Govinder began his art training when he studied graphic design at Lincoln Art College in Bradford in the North of England.  He moved to London where he worked as a children’s book illustrator.  Upon moving back to his home town of Saltaire in West Yorkshire , he was a designer for greeting cards and a photographic art director in the fashion business.  He became involved in the fine art market in 1999 with the introduction of his portfolio to the Washington Green Group.

Govinder uses solid oil bars directly onto the canvas.  Upon choosing his vibrant color palette, he uses no brushes, only his fingers and the heat from his hands to manipulate the paint into a fluid state.  Govinder finds this technique to be a wonderful and unusual medium to work with.

The flows of line and form, as well as negative shapes, are important in Govinder’s compositions.  He looks for connections between shapes, and links them with connecting lines with the end result being part abstract and part defined.  These colorful and exciting results are most notably recognized in his whimsical depiction of ordinary cats, dogs, and other animals.

Since his introduction in the U.S. last year, Govinder is on his way to becoming one of our most celebrated contemporary artists. His unique use of textures, shapes, and images have caused his art to become increasingly collectable and sought after.

All of the images in the exhibit are available for purchase from October 16th through November 16th, exclusively at Frames & Images.

The images depicted on this page (and many more) will be available for sale.  When the show concludes on November 16th  the images will no longer be available.
