Artist: Robert A. Tino For nearly fifteen years, Robert Tino's watercolors have become distinctively synonymous with the undefinable beauty of the Great Smokies ... its ancient landscape, its time-worn farmhouse, barns and churches from a more serene era. His signature meshing of transparent watercolors and gouache ("gwash" - a little used, ancient opaque acrylic technique) evoke the spirit and countless moods of this mountain Eden. He preserves his personal experience with each scene he paints in remarkable detail while also exploring his characteristic affinity for impressionistic flourishes of color, depth and texture.
